Morphologie – cristaux pseudo-hexagonaux tabulaires superposés.
Clivage – {010} parfait et {101} bon.
Cassure – (??).
Dureté – 2½ – 3.
Densité – 2,8 g/cm
Trait – blanc.
Associations minérales – albite, calcioburbankite, garronite, petersenite et sidérite.
Autres propriétés – aucunes.
Étymologie – nommée en 1985, afin de refléter son contenu en lanthane.
